Oddie's Historical Feature - Episode 13

Welcome to another 'Oddie's Historical Feature'!
As well as looking at strange people through history, I'll be also presenting strange but true events that leave many questions unanswered.

The story of Marguerite Alibert (Fahmy) 1890-1971 - sometimes known as Maggie Mellor - who learned quickly that she possessed a power over men....and became focussed on making it very financially rewarding.
She was a very shrewd businesswoman, selling an expensive product that only wealthy men could afford.....and they were more than willing to pay.
She didn't just want money, she wanted status too; both objects of her desire came along in the shape of Prince Ali Kamel Fahmy Bey.
Her business strategy however, didn't go entirely to plan...
...luckily she had a Plan-B up her sleeve.
